Nothing stops me!

Nothing can stop me from eating! Wahahaha... I just got 2 teeth extracted on Friday. One top and one bottom, on the left, and next week I will extract 2 more!!! *cry* All for the sake of beauty (gosh, what has gotten into me?!!) I've finally decided to put braces on. Been talking about it for more than 3 years now, and I still "lengeh-lengeh". This year, I thought, wah..going to graduate end of next year already, still dont want to put on? Hence here I am now, with 2 holes in my mouth.

Feeling very weird at first, but today I'm getting used to it. I was so scared that my cousin, also my dentist, got a shock. "I've never seen someone so scared as you." Hehehehe. As timid as a mouse :P Lucky she was gentle, KINDA! She was pulling my teeth out with a tool that looked like plyers!!! >_<" But she also knows that Im very scared, so she made sure she gave me enough anesthetic. Hehe.

Today, I've already started eating :P Ate curry puff for breakfast, nachos for lunch, and normal dinner. I even ate squid. Hahaha. Then I ate cheesecake, thinking of having ice cream later. My cousin keep asking me, "are you alright? still alive?" Hehe... alive and well. Eating chips already. Haha. But then next week have to pull 2 more teeth out. Sigh. I already have so little teeth, and they still want to pull 4 out. Somemore my teeth is quite small, compared to MY SIZE! :P That's what my cousin said. But I dont care how small my teeth are, as long as I can eat everything I want to eat, its good! Hehehe.

The real horror will start when they start putting the braces in. My friends have been telling me that it hurts like hell! *cry*

Anyway, feel kinda weird when I smile now. I can see the holes between my teeth :( Cannot smile with a wide mouth anymore. I can only smile closing my mouth. Sigh. Hopefully I dont have to go on a porridge diet!!! I dont like eating porridge, ate too much when I was young. Hahaha.

So when I come back at the end of the year, I'll be metal mouth! wahahaha. I think I'm going to look damn weird. Not to mention it's going to hurt like hell each time the tighten it *cry*

Women in Engineering

Everyone knows that the proportion of females studying engineering is still low, although it is on the rise. And even if it is on the rise, it is only in certain majors. Like environmental engineering, EE engineering, Software, IT and a few hybrid ones. The rise is not constant across all engineering disciplines. In my university, the average male to female ratio is about 10:1, except in the majors above where the ratios are higher.

I was slacking during my break today and went to help my friend sell tickets for an EE networking forum. Actually I was just being a kaypo there. Hahaha. Of course acting serious for 2 hours just wasnt us. We had to find more interesting things to entertain ourselves with. I'm not sure how the topic came up, but it did.

Then we started talking on how a mining engineering has the highest starting salary - ranging from $100k to $150k a year. But of course you have to work in the mines! Which isnt very appealing. Not to mention studying mining can be very boring. Then suddenly my friend said,

"can you imagine AAA doing Oil and Gas? I mean, can you actually imagine her sitting on an oil rig?"

To which my other friend replied,
"She's not going to sit on the oil rig. She's going to marry a rich oil tycoon and become tai-tai!"

In which the first friend replied,
"Oh yea hor! She just enter the industry to meet her future husband. Hahaha."

Hahahaha. I can only laugh. These 2 other friends of mine are both doing engineering, the first one doing the same major as me, Mechatronics, the other one doing IT. I dont know why they think AAA will not work as an O&G engineer. Probably because they think she is too beauty/fashion conscious to do that. Or maybe they think all girls from Indo will eventually settle down with a rich husband as soon as they graduate. I dont know. I'm not that close to AAA.

I'm not actually surprised that graduate female engineers will end up like that. I'm not saying that I am an exception, I cannot tell the future right! But hopefully I will not end up like that. Hahaha. My friend's mum is an ideal example of this. She graduated from civil engineering, I think, and married her dad, a geomechanical engineer and settled down as a housewife. Yes, she is from Indo.

I am assuming these people went through the 4 years of tough engineering just for interest or passion. What is the point of studying something, only to graduate and become a housewife? Unless you are making great changes with your knowledge gained from university, I really dont see the point. And even that, I still dont see the point. To me, it is a waste of time, effort, and money. Unless your family is loaded of course, then who cares how many degrees you take before and after settling down as a housewife. They say knowledge is never wasted, you can never have too much knowledge. I know I might attract a lot of haters by making such statements, but this is what I feel. And no, I'm not trying to boast about myself, or anything along those lines. There are many great women engineers out there. Definitely not as huge in numbers as the males, but they do exist. I do not hope to be as successful as them, all I hope for is for me to experience the daily work of an engineer, enjoy it, and to satisfy my interests that engineers do make things happen. Hehehe.

Until this day, my dad still believes that my commerce degree will be the one that takes me places, and not my engineering degree. I'm not underestimating my commerce degree. But I believe with both, I can go further than with only one. That was not my initial plan though. Haha. My plan was to study engineering for interest, and study commerce for its importance. But soon I found myself enjoying both! :P Now I believe that working as an investment consultant/stock broker/analyst can be very interesting indeed.

This probably brings the topic of independent/career women as well. I believe the majority of you believe that a woman's place is in her home. Women are born to be home-makers and they should stick to it, and not outside in the corporate world fighting for equal rights. I'm not against equal rights for women because I believe some women really deserve better rights than they currently do. But being equal does not mean being the same. Men and women can never be the same. We were made to be different and different we shall be. It is not wrong for women to have her own career, but I believe she must also know her responsibilities as a home-maker. Because in the end, she is still the wife of her husband and mother of her kids. She will eventually have to settle down as a housewife. Agree? Hahaha. I sound so funny talking about this. Please dont flame me if you dont >_<"

So fellow engineers and non-engineers, male and female, tell me what you think will you? Enlighten me with your view on these issues. Make me think under a different light...hehehe. In the meantime, I should get back to my derivatives tutorial. Hahaha.

Guys & Girls Ogling

I am back! After a short break from blogging, I am back. Hahaha. Missed me? Aww... miss you all too! I wanted to make a post long time ago, except I couldnt make up my mind what to blog about. I simply couldnt finish a post, and so I deleted it. Anyway, my post today...

My confession - I like looking at guys, AND girls. Hahaha. At first I only liked looking at girls, but soon I found out that I enjoy looking at guys too! :P Now, please dont make any assumptions about my sexuality, because as I have said before, I am very much straight. *ahem*

Girls, who doesnt like ogling at cute and handsome guys?

Guys, who doesnt like ogling at beautiful and sexy girls?

I love looking at beautiful girls/females. In fact, I think pretty girls are eye candies. Hahaha. I like admiring their beautiful features, their beautiful hair, the way they walk and all. Actually, I prefer looking at beautiful women, not pretty girls. Beautiful people like Catherine Zeta-Jones, Angelina Jolie, Renee Zellweger, Aishwarya Rai, Kate Beckinsale, Eva Longoria, Charlize Theron, and Cate Blanchett to name a few. These people have the confidence and beauty, and looking at them is enough to make me go "awww.... so beautiful." Hahaha. Sometimes its also the elegance and the way they carry themselves. I especially like Catherine ZJ, I think she has the curves and beauty and is not afraid to show it off, especially when everyone is in the stick-thin craze. I prefer women with curves...oooh. Hahaha.

Pretty women on the other hand are people like Katie Holmes, Jessica Alba, Naomi Watts, Claire Danes, Keira Knightley, and even the young Dakota Fanning. These are usually in the younger group, where cuteness and sweetness dominates. They might capture my attention for a short while, but not as long as the beautiful ones. Hahaha. I know make-up and photographic tricks do help boost their features a lot, and that's why they appear to be as beautiful as they do. But sometimes the eyes, the combination of their face features, and their x-factor really contribute to the decision factor. Hahaha.

Now, who are the handsome hunks? The young Tom Cruise, now he looks kinda old. Richard Gere!!! Omg! He is one smooth and charming guy! I love his shows! :P Brad Pitt, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp (they have this mysterious and rebellious character in them), Dermot Mulroney *drools*, Hugh Jackman (another smooth guy), Orlando Bloom, and of course "you know who". Hahaha. How can I forget you? Hehe.

When I was having a drink at Melbourne's Max Brenner chocolate place one night, I noticed this really cute guy. Haha. Chinese guy, a little bit muscular, but he was oh-so-cute! I just couldnt stop looking at him! I went crazy drooling! He was just so cute! I was like a young teenager having a crush on a hot guy! Hahaha. He's not handsome or anything like that, he's simply very nice to look at. He looks like he's a very nice and funny guy :P I was even challenged to get his phone number! Haha. I didnt want to leave that place at all, and when I was outside the place, I couldnt stop smiling. For the first time in my whole trip, I found someone so cute to look at!! Of course, someone was even cuter lah! *wink* Haha.

I found another cute guy to look at just now while having coffee with a friend. Haha. This aussie guy, with his tall and beautiful gf. Sigh. Another beautiful lady. The guy was not really handsome, but he was quite cute, very nice to look at. He probably noticed me staring at him every now and then. Because he would be looking back at me, thinking, "what are you looking at?" Hahaha. Hope the gf didnt notice, I only look, no "touch" :P

So you see, I admire beautiful women, but I get excited over cute and handsome guys! Hahaha. I probably missed a lot of other beautiful and cute women/guys. But these are all I can remember at the moment. Sigh.. all these beautiful people. Really envy them sometimes. But then again, beauty is skin deep right? I'm not saying this to comfort myself or anything, because I am totally fine about it. But a person with a heart of gold, is more than a thousand times more beautiful than a person with a beautiful face/body but an evil heart. Agree? ^_^

when blogging is a bore

Havent had much to blog about for the past few days. Well, it really started a few weeks ago. I used to love blogging! and I really mean LOVE! I would have something to blog about almost every second of the day! And usually I cant wait to sit down in front of my computer and type away. These days I simply cant find anything to blog about, and even if I do, I'm too impatient I cant even finish what I want to write and it ends up being saved as draft - half written. Is it because there is nothing to blog about anymore? or is it because I am getting very impatient and bored about this whole idea of blogging?

I read a lot of blogs. I pick them from Petaling Street and that's how I usually spend my time. Anyone who reads blogs from there too would notice that there are hardly any good/nice/entertaining blogs to read anymore, or at least not as many. The good bloggers seem to have quit the business. Where have they all gone? Boy, I really miss those good reads, it makes your day better sometimes.

So for the past weeks I've just been logging in, click 'create' post, rest my hands on the keyboard, then log out again. Hahaha. How sad. Otherwise I'll go to petalingstreet and browse through the latest pings and close the window. Life is getting boring. No, actually a blogger's life is getting boring. Perhaps the blogging craze is over now, I personally have been blogging for 2 years now and maybe its time to take a rest. After all uni has just started, and I think its going to be a very crazy ride from here!!! for those who log in everyday hoping for a new post, I'm sorry. I will blog when something interesting happens! *wink* Take care!!!

First day at school

Today is my first day back at uni for the long awaited 2nd semester... nah! Haha.

"What time is your class tomorrow?"

10am. And I only have 1 class. That means I finish at 11am... haha.

"What? You start at 10?! Only 1 class? Last time I never started later than 9am and never finished earlier than 5pm."

Err... that was more than 20 years ago, and you did Dentistry. I do engineering... hehehe.

Starting at 10pm is not such a big deal lah. I still have to wake up at 9am, latest!!! That's not much fun! But starting school again is always fun, I get to see all my friends again! Actually only a few because we all have different timetables now. But I get to see some familiar faces! hehe.

I still remember starting school in my primary and secondary school days. I used to pack everything into my bag the night before and make sure I have everything ready to go the next morning - pencil case, books, water bottle, money, food/snacks (very important), uniform, tie, socks. I was so organised I amaze myself. Yes, I WAS. Now I'm not anymore. Hahaha. Last night I only took my bag out, I didnt even pack anything into it. This morning I cleared my file from last semester's stuff. Didnt know I had somemore stuff in there :P Then threw everything I needed into the bag! Haha. Made express breakfast and ran out of the house like I always do. Dont want to be late for my first class!!! I was a bit late though, had to speed down the freeway.. hehehe. Dont want to get mixed up with my classes like last semester!! *wink* Hahaha... embarrassing but hillarious!

Early primary school days were the best. My parents would assist me in packing my bag, make sure I have everything I need. First day of school is always "yuran sekolah" day. Daddy/mummy will have to give me money to pay for school fees. Teachers were strict, fees always had to be paid by the first day $_$ I used to be very scared on the first day. I am always scared because I dont know if I will still see my friends, I dont know if the teacher is fierce, I dont know if I will make any friends. Basically I was very scared, never fail. In fact I still remember crying the whole first week in primary 1. Hahaha. My dad would be sitting in the canteen somewhere where I can see him. Off and on I would turn my head to look for him. Once I lose sight of him, I will start to get worried and look everywhere for him. I would always smile when he walks out from behind the pillars. And if I still dont see him, I start crying. I would cry and cry, so loud that the teachers dont know what to do with me. I would cry half the day away, then the remaining half would be me trying to do my work, and waiting to see my dad again after school. After the bell rings, I would be walking out with my school bag, searching for my dad. And he would always be there, waiting behind the fence/gate for me. Hehehe. I would walk faster to him, and he would always carry my bag for me and hold my hands when we cross the road. Then I will start telling him stories about school. Haha.

And of course we often had pocket money to buy stuff we fancy at the school bookshop or the school canteen. Hehehe. Not a lot. Rm1 was a huge amount at that age! anything fancy, cute erasers, pencils, sharpeners with the mirror! The bookshops always sold these cute stuff to attract silly kids like me. And no matter what day it is, there will always be people queueing up. Then there is the canteen! Wah! I still remember buying the french fries - 50c. Hahaha. That was like a luxury! Hot and yummy! Then there was pisang goreng, keropok and all that sorts. I miss primary school - Seri Mega. Yea, gang? The class of 6S and 6R, all the way till 6M. Nice memories I have there. Pn Tan - 6S's teacher. Havent seen her for years now. Oh, I still remember Pn. Nik - the fiercest Penolong Gurubesar. Then UHT Milk - our last headmaster before we all left. Hahaha. Oh boy. Feels so nice recollecting memories from primary school days. So many "interesting" stories too. Girls, boys, "love", Sweet Valley junior/high/uni series, Backstreet Boys craze, smuggling illegal stuff at school... hahaha. Funny when I think of it now :)

I dont think I can ever finish writing them down if I were to start. Just too many, and most beautiful in our memory...

Who am I?

Wow... what a boring topic on a beautiful Friday afternoon. I havent really been acting like my usual self for the past few days and it made me think. Who am I really? To those whom I have annoyed (and I am sure there is a few) I apologise. I cant find the reason why I've been short tempered these days. Perhaps when uni starts I will be better, or worse! O_o Hopefully better...

I am annoying - I have this constant need to annoy the people around me or I get insane.
I am short tempered - but I have managed to keep my temper down for the many years now. Please congratulate me.
I am always tired - 8 hrs of sleep a day is not enough for me. I sleep an average of 10 hrs during holidays and I can still manage to take a nap in the afternoon ^_^ Am I that tired or do I simply refuse to wake up? hmm..
I am a crazy eater - I can eat so much I feel like throwing up, yet at times I dont feel like eating anything that my gastric comes and bothers me.
I am a coward - I never had this courage inside of me to do anything. I still remember how I'm always so scared to sit for my piano practical exams. And now I panic because of my uni exams!
I am a maniac - I simply am. When I'm really stressed I put on the headphones and blast my music to the max, so loud that my niece complains. Please forgive me if I cant hear you sometimes. My ear drums are probably broken.
I am a verbal driver - I drive like a maniac, and I have a tendency to shout at the driver in front of me to MOVE!!! when I am rushing for time.
I am a great disappointment - I am a useless friend that doenst keep in touch, I am a useless gf, and I am most importantly a useless daughter.
I am insecure by nature - of myself and it's probably the reason why I have low self-confidence.
I am very aggressive - sometimes I do things without thinking properly, and I hate myself for that.

*grins* I cant think of anything else at the moment. You guys probably have your own view on who I am. But this is who I think I am. Hmm.. looking at what I typed above, I sound like a very angry person. Am I? Gosh, I hope not! Hahaha.

Sorry, this post is to entertain myself for the moment. Any traits in me that I have missed? Feel free to condemn me in any way. I am open to comments. Although you have the right to remain silent. Hahaha. Gracias.

Shall We Dance?

wah... I said I'll post this up ages ago! :P Anyway, just scanned this leaflet for you guys to see. I came back from Melbourne on Monday midnight and my cousin invited me to go to this musical on Tuesday. I did. And the night I sat there, I wondered, will this be another show that will make me wanna learn dancing again? Hahaha. Ok, first movie was "Shall We Dance", after watching that movie I fell in love with it, and started to learn dancing. I took up lessons, learning a few dances, cha cha, samba, quick step to name a few. Cant remember what the rest were called. Hahaha. But after about 5 lessons I stopped - exams and I went back to Malaysia. Of course when I came back I didnt continue anymore, I was simply lazy!

So Chee Chiaw, dancing ball ah? You organise for everyone to take up lessons first ok? Hahaha. Including me, that is :P

When we were outside, I felt so left out - the majority of the crowd were seniors! Haha. I felt like a minor in the crowd, almost as if I am at the wrong venue! :P In fact I think me and my cousin were the only chinese... *hides* But no lah, I actually feel quite proud (wah... hear me talk!) to be able to enjoy stuff like these... anyway. The musical started..

The dancers were so good!!! There were about 8 pairs of dancers on stage altogether, choreographed by Jason Gilkison, a Perth born lad. Omg... my eyes just stayed wide open O_O the whole time! I was so impressed! Their movements were strong and full of energy, yet graceful. Their legs and feet, so fast and powerful! And their bodies of course... wah. How I wish I had their bodies :P dancers have great body *hint hint*

The girls were dressed quite sexily *wink* but the guys were pretty normal. Although they were half naked most of the times! Hahaha. All their dances were full of energy and entertaining. I just watched them and I already felt tired for them. The dances were all the classic dances, but with a touch of hip hop and more fun than the classics. I brought my camera in there, only to read the sign "no cameras allowed in the theatre." It was a waste! The whole show was so entertaining and beautiful! If any of you were here, I would definitely recommend you guys to watch it. Even if you think you dont know anything about dancing, just go ahead. After watching it, you would take up dance lessons! Haha.

Oh, there were 2 girls I particularly liked. Hehehe. One is a latin-looking girl with frizzy curls. I dont really know how to describe what she looks like but she was so good! Her moves were expressive and bold, and she just had this thing that makes people notice her. Ooh la la! Sexy too. Hahaha. Then there is this other blonde Aussie girl, very good moves too. But she was more of the flirty type. Very beautiful though, hehehe. The guys? Nothing great, no one that stood out. Sigh. And no! I am not a lesbo ok! I'm very much straight! ^_^

How I wish I can actually watch it again or at least have it on Dvd or something like that. The soundtracks were good too, great band! Oh... I especially melted when they danced to the song la vie en rose. Wah... the lady who sang all the songs had such a powerful voice! She made the song sound so smooth...hmm. I have a copy of that soundtrack... hehehe.

How did I feel after that show? Well, I did feel a small tinge to pick up dancing again. But I dont know if I'll have the motivation to continue. Hahaha. Problem is we cant get any guys to learn!!! Guys!!! Dancing is not sissy ok! The last time was just a bunch of girls learning, and it was pretty hard with only 1 guy - the instructor! hehehe... wait till I get my bf to learn with me :P

Pump pump pump

I dont know when my car tyre was low on pressure, but my uncle saw it the other night when I went over to his house to pass him some souvenirs from Melbourne. Me being the unobservant/ignorant/spoilt child I am, I didnt even notice the tyre pressure. Oh well, got to bring my car to the petrol station! Then I realised something...

I dont really know how to pump air into the tyres!!! O_o

I know all of you are blinking with disbelief, your jaws probably touching the table already. Hahaha. I'm sorry, I cant help laughing at myself too. So useless hor?

Well, it's not that I really dont know! But I havent actually done it before! I've always seen my dad do it, while I'm sitting in the car :P or I've seen people do it, from a distance! I've never actually had to do it myself! Ok ok, I need to find some place to hide myself now, but before that...

I asked my sister the other night to ask my dad what is the pressure I need to pump and specific instructions on how to do it. My sister burst out laughing. She probably fell off the chair, I'm pretty sure of it. "You dont know how to pump tyre?!?! HAHAHAHA" ok, point noted. Then she started teasing me and laughing at me. She laughed so loud I wonder if she really knows how to do it herself!!! Hmmm... but anyway, she waited for my dad to get off his mobile phone before detailing the instructions from him to me.

"you adjust the pressure from 0 to 28 lbs, then place it over the tube. Let the needle go 'tink tink' until you hear it go very fast. Then ok already."

Place the hose where? the tube? Do I have to unscrew them? Fully or partially?

"Hahaha. Oy!!! Of course have to unscrew lah! Dont unscrew how to pump?!! Hahaha... make sure you dont unscrew the tyres ah!"

-_-" I dunno mah... Hahaha.

Yes, everyone had a great big laugh. Even my dad's friend who was over at my house was laughing... "hahaha, ask her no need to pump air lah. Change new car!" Hahaha... I had to laugh at that myself! :P

Anyway, was meant to do it this morning, but my uncle probably knows me better than I do, said that he better go with me. Hahaha. So after lunch came my step-by-step lesson on how to pump air into the tyres. Whoa!!! I felt so enlightened this afternoon! It's like I just learnt something very wonderful! Australia is much more advanced though, they dont use the 'tink tink' pressure gauge! They use an electronic/digital gauge! Hahaha, sorry folks! No 'tink tink tink' :P And I was told to pump 32 psi ok!!! On it says standard passenger car to pump 30-38 psi. Wow... hehehe.

Dont bully me now people! I know how to pump tyres ok! I'm not dumb anymore!!! Hmm.. still havent change tyres with my own hands yet tho... (touch wood!!!) ^_^

Hahaha... okok, now let me find some place to hide myself...

Dream a little dream

I woke up last night at about 4am from a dream...

I dont know if I can explain my dream properly because right now, I'm still trying to make sense of it... I was sitting somewhere with Pui San and Jiaxin and we were all feeling very sad. Something really bad is happening, either the place was being attacked by terrorists or the country is at war. I'm not sure myself, all I know is it was very tense and frightening. Both of them were crying and sniffing. I was trying to comfort them at first, but soon I found myself crying too. I even found myself crying buckets and buckets uncontrollably!!! At the same time I kept saying "I miss my mummy, I miss my family. I love them..." and cried even more.

The next thing I remember was I woke up from that dream, and my bf was hugging me, telling me "it's just a dream silly, it's alright". I didnt wake up sitting and breathing heavily like they always show in the movies. Somehow I always believe those expressions are exeggerated. I just woke up with my eyes open, and hugging my bf back. Happy that it was only a dream...

The weirdest thing was, the next moment, I was awake. In my room. Alone. I was dreaming in my dream. How is that? It's like a bubble inside a bubble! I looked right and I saw a bit of sunlight shinning through my room blinds. My clock read 4am and I simply went back to sleep.

It was weird and frightening at the same time. I've never had such dreams before where the place is in danger. I think I've been watching too many war-like movies, like the recent War of the Worlds. Perhaps I should watch more romantic comedies instead! Hahaha.

The recent bombing in London caused a minor shock too. I thought terrorism was over. Apparently not. I do not have any relatives or friends in London, but my friend's dad is in London... scary and worrying.

I dont know. As you can see I'm still a little dazed from the dream... Maybe it's because of everything that has happened that gave me such a dream. To all my friends everywhere on the globe, I wish to tell you..

Thank you so much for being my friend. Your friendship has given me lots of unforgettable memories and taught me lots of things. To all my primary school friends, I'm just so happy that we are still contacting each other. Friendship never ends. Love you all.

I Love Melbourne!!!

Hello everybody!!! Wah... I've been gone for more than a week! I'm sure you guys miss me like hell, especially my woman!!! *wink* Hahahaha... muaks! You can probably tell that I had a great time there...

Melbourne is fantastic!!! I love it! The city is so big compared to Perth, although it is a bit old-looking compared to Sydney. But nevertheless I love the city for its rich of beautiful cafes and food :P Sadly, you see McDonald's, Hungry Jacks and KFC at every possible corner! The Chinatown is definitely much bigger and nicer than the one in Perth, which is mainly just a block!!! Hahahaha... you can get a huge variety of Hong Kong food there.. yum! The dimsim in Melbourne is much better than the one in Perth too!!! hehehe.

The weather was cold, definitely! In the day, it was about 15deg and it got as low as 4deg at night ...brrr. They say the weather in Melbourne is erratic! Changing every minute!!! I found it ok, because sometimes Perth has such crazy weather too. Hahaha. We were lucky to have clear skies most of the time, although it drizzled every now and then.

The Shrine of Remembrance for WW I

Melbourne at night

Have you ever seen such a beautiful view? Oh..it was simply breathtaking! I could just sit there all day just watching the night pass...

I've never seen the sun set right in front of my eyes before. Especially when it is not obstructed by any tall concrete towers!!! It was a pure scenery... the great big South Pacific Ocean and the sunset... just beautiful and the most romantic thing.

The Nobbies

We were supposed to see the rock seals at the nobbies, using a telescope. But nah, we thought we'll skip it and wait for the real excitement instead - penguins!!!

We went to Philip Island to see the penguins, woohoo!!! Penguins!!! Unfortunately we werent allowed to snap any pictures of them because they are afraid of the flashing of lights. We only got to see them come back to shore to their homes in the evening when the skies were dark. We sat on the bences, waiting patiently, shivering in the cold gushes of wind from the open sea... It was the most beautiful sight though, watching those cute little blue penguins making their way to shore, watching them swimming back into the waters again if their partners got left behind. Back and forth, back and forth, they swam before finally running home... They travelled in small little groups of about 5. They were the cutest thing on earth!!! Standing about 20cm tall, they were simply adorable as you watch the little creatures waddling up the sandy shores... I will never forget those little penguins...

Anyone that goes to Melbourne cannot miss out on the new chocolate culture - Max Brenner!!! Wahahaha... chocolate lovers! this place is a must go!!! They serve the most unique way of drinking hot chocolate - the suckao way! Hahaha. No kidding people, the drink is called a suckao - to suck cacao (cocoa).

See that lamp-like thing there? Underneath it is a candle, to warm the small cup of milk above it. Then slowly you drop the chocolate pastilles into the cup, and let it melt a little before sucking it with the steel "suckao srtaw". I'm sorry lah, I dont know what its called. But its a spoon-like straw, allowing you to sip melted chocolate with warmed milk. What an experience!!! Young people hang out at this place like its we hang out at mamak! Hahaha. This is called the Aussie mamak!!! :P Of course there are other mouth-watering stuff like the strawberry fondue (ooh...yummy!) or even the strawberry pancakes/waffles!!! If I had the time, I would just sit there all day and sample everything on their menu!!! Hahaha...

The next trip is the Great Ocean Road trip. Another breathtaking trip!!! The scenery was just so wonderful... the hills, the cows, the sheeps! Hahaha. The clear blue skies, the country living, the big and beautiful trees, phew... it was almost like I was in some scene in LoTR!!! Hahaha. I'm not kidding ok! The view was just so beautiful... next time when I have the $$$, I'm going to buy a holiday home in places like these. So peaceful...

funny picture!

It was also in this trip that I bumped into a friend from uni! O_O" Hahaha. Also a Malaysian guy, doing Engineering/Science. He must be shocked when he saw me holding Jason's hands! Hahaha. Coincidentally his name is also Jason. "Jason, meet Jason." Anyway, he snapped a picture of us together and I can only imagine what will happen as soon as he comes back to Perth and spreads the news to everyone...

We headed down to see the famous 12 Apostles. When we arrived, we saw a media crew and I thought they were filming something. But no! One of the apostles collapsed!!! This ranger was making a report on it, and we jokingly said to him, "oh no! So now there are 11 apostles!" And he jokingly replied, "Well, there was only 9 originally. There was never 12." O_o" hahahaha...so instead of being 11, now there are 8. Hahaha.. how sad. Australia is losing its apostles in a snap of a finger. I think it must have been the strong waves and wind...sigh. So remember ok! EVen though it says "12 Apostles", there are only 8...

There was also this place called "The London Bridge". Yes, there are many tourist attractions in Aust that are named after foreign places or foreign settlers. But again, it is a fallen London Bridge. I think it fell down 15 years ago, but still these tour guides still bring you here to see the "fallen London Bridge". I actually wonder what is so great about it. Because afterall, it is a natural formation of the rock. But I guess it's also beautiful because it is natural...

The Ferrari Club @ Cafe Corretto

This is for Ferrari Lovers - like my sister Ju Lee. There is quite a huge population of Italians in Melbourne. And there is this street called Lygon street filled with Italian restorante and cafes and gelati shops! It was mouth-watering!!! I was practically drooling each time we walked past those restaurants. I love italian food, especially the rich creamy pasta, and wood fired pizzas... yummy... Not to mention eating gelati in the cold cold night. Absolutely crazy! But fun at the same time! It's almost like eating ice-kacang right in front of the heater! (hahaha... I'm sorry for the comparison. But we did that once in Perth! :P) There is this place called "il dolce freddo" which served durian gelato!! Yes, durian!!! Yum!!! Unfortunately they only serve it during weekends, and by the time we went there, they were already closed for the winter *cry*

That about sums up my trip in Melbourne. Wahahaha... of course some details are omitted to keep this site friendly! *wink* Hahaha. I mostly showed you pictures of the road trips we went on, there are many beautiful places in the city too. Like the Crown Casino! Whoa!!! Can compete with Genting Casino? I'm not sure, havent really been in there. Haha.

Outside the casino are towers that have water flowing down the sides. But at night they transform into flame towers!!! See the picture? We were lucky to be able to see them. We didnt know what time they were going to come on. At the beginning, only small flames would come out the top of the towers, followed by fiercer flames. It was like a flame dance, following a sequence similar to the standing hand wave. And at the very end, the flame was so strong that we could feel the heat just standing below the towers!!! whoa!!! Hahaha. I dont know what it is called, so I'll just call it the flame dance! Hahaha. Sorry this picture only shows the beginning part. The other pictures are kinda blurry...

Then there are other old and historical architectures around which makes Melbourne the arty-facty city of Australia. Hehehe. I'm serious, I love Melbourne! From now onwards, I'm going to start applying for jobs there! Wish me luck! Hahaha...
