The land of smiles
Here I am again, in the land of smiles..
In the place where you see middle-aged men coupled with younger thai women.
In the place where the citizens honour their king.
In the place where people talk to me in Thai without realising I'm not responding.
LoL
I've travelled for the past 12 hours with very little sleep.. @_@ Who would know that flying from Perth to Bangkok/Pattaya can take up to 12 hours.. Sigh.
I see many tourists - cantonese speaking, mandarin speaking, and the typical angmohs.. Is it school holidays somewhere?
This time my room faces the sea.. quite nice :) hehe. At least I wont be coincidentally seeing "flattering" angmohs taking their morning swim :P
Honestly I feel very fortunate to be able to travel here for this project, for the 3rd time, on business class. Its not a project I'm related directly with, but only the occasional assignments. Not to mention, I am still a 1st year grad, and I'm travelling business class with many other more senior, more experienced, and more important people of the project.
Perhaps this is the last trip? I've been looking for a rotation in instrumentation recently. I better appreciate every moment of this trip. LoL
Oh Oh! a visit to changi airport is never complete without buying something from their confectionary department :D Guess what I bought? At the moment they are intended to be gifts/souvenirs for his family, but I'll be making another transit at changi on the way back! So lets hope I dont go broke >_<
And I just realised that one of my bright pink luggage locks is missing!!! T_T they were there when I picked up my luggages from the conveyor belt and I clearly remember seeing them when the driver loaded the luggages into the boot of the car. But now that the luggages are delivered to my room, they're gone!! Missing!! NO!!!!! T_T I only just bought them.. and they're meant to be a pack of four :'( where is it? Could it be in the car? Its not in the lobby :'( I shall ask him tomorrow if I see him.. with my very good english and his very good thai, we shall find out where the lock is.. sobs...
Today is the only free day I have. Tomorrow we will start work and I'm not sure what time we'll finish. On the last day, Thursday, we will be leaving Bangkok. That doesnt give me a lot of time to shop, walk and explore. I guess there isnt THAT much to shop and I've shopped many times previously. LoL. There isnt much to walk either and I dare not go far without someone else to get lost with me :P and there isnt much to explore if you're not a lonely middle aged men with money to spend on booze and girls.. Hahaha. Sigh.. I would prefer to be in Bangkok.
I suddenly hope that the days in Pattaya will go smoothly and pass quickly :P I cant wait for the after plans :D
