OoooOoohhhh...

My aunty and elder cousin had friends over tonight for dinner. It was a mini potluck thing. It was yummy!! (some lah..) we had chicken rice, my favourite panfried dumplings (gyoza), salad, home-made bbq pork, roast pork.. and we had nice desserts - Azzura ice cream!! Yummy!!!! Now I'm so full I cant even sit down properly... my stomach refuse to do a 90deg bend.. argh!

Too bad I forgot to take pictures of the ice cream, otherwise it would be really interesting to see it :P These ice creams are made fancy to match their flavours - eg. peach flavoured ice cream with a centred ferrero rocher chocolate is made to look like a real peach! The colours, the artificial leaf, the brown chocolate stem.. it looks like a real peach. But I liked the coffee one better. It has Kahlua in it, or at least that's what I've been told :P Not that I can tell/differentiate. Hahahaha. But I like the coffee + liqeur taste/smell.. hehe.

Then random people who spotted me (duh! I was trying to hide..) asked me some common questions..

So what are you doing? are you studying?

Yea. I'm doing commerce and engineering at UWA.

OoOoohh.... UWA as well ah.. *head nods and turns but eyes stays on you*

What year?

Final year already.

OoooOoohhhh...

*I wonder what they're thinking..*

.....

Hi :) are you studying?

Yea.. at UWA.

Oh.. doing what?

Commerce and engineering :)

Oh! Me doing commerce, second year.. You? Third year?

No. Final year. Hehe.

OoOoohhh... you look so relaxed!!!

ERrr.. Hahaha. Looks can be deceiving you know..

and then I found out that this other guy was also studying the same thing at uwa! Hahaha. But he's only 3rd year, mechanical/finance. The fella damn tall I tell you. Few heads taller than me.. -__-" Ok lah. I know I short.. but still. He's damn tall. Like basketballer kinda figure *angelic* And I'm very very sure he plays basketball *double angelic*

What lah? The fella younger than me ok.. I dont like guys younger than me :P Wahahahaha.. aiyah. Dont want to crap edi lah.. sien. Going to watch tele.. hope there's something nice on tv..

So sad lah. Tonight satuday night. Yet I sit at home watch tv.. -__-" I should be going out, at the movies, or eating, or shopping, or out with friends *cry* I miss you.. I miss you heaps!!!!

sniff sniff..

Katak di bawah tempurung

Someone's been working late. This will probably last few more weeks. Sometimes I wonder what am I worrying myself about. But heck, girls worry all the time right? :P Excuses! Haha.

But I end up being told that it's really different between studying and working.

I guess it is different. I am still studying. I dont understand the meaning of working hard and working after office hours (o/time). I dont really understand the importance of being rich/having lots of money because after living for 22 years, I have not been responsible for a single bill. Except my phone bill here, but that bill is still paid by my dad. I never had to work hard and sweat for money/salary. I am a spoilt child arent I? Every dollar I spend everyday, it might not be a lot when I look at it daily. But when I look at my monthly expenses, my yearly expenses, my car insurance, car road tax, my uni fees, my dental fees. It all adds up to a very significant amount... and I salute my dad for being so capable of bringing up this high-maintenance daughter.

I am really a 'Katak di bawah tempurung'. I have yet to experience the real world. I have yet to experience the real working life. During my time at Proton, I was just waiting there daily for the clock/bell to ring at 5.30pm which means I can walk out of the office. All my other so-called jobs are all casual, light, easy jobs. I have yet to experience the real and first-hand feeling when money is not enough. I have yet to encounter mean and evil people of the society who will want to step on me and crush me. I have yet to experience how hard it is to start earning my own money.

Working perhaps 6-7 days a week, at least 12 hours a day, just hoping to get that cheque at the end of the month. Imagine how fast that cheque will disappear when I start paying for my own bills and eating adventures. I think I am going to be a poor person. Hahahahahaha... ok. This is not a joke post.

Perhaps I'm just a person who lives a carefree kinda life. As long as I have enough money to eat, and pay my bills, my occasional *ahem* shopping, I'm happy. I dont wish for a huge mansion. I dont wish to drive a Rolls Royce/Ferrari. I dont wish to have 10 maids in my house. I dont wish for a grand holiday every year. As long as I'm happy with the people I love around me, I'm happy. It doesnt take a lot for me to be happy and smile..

I am still in dreamland - the land where students only need to care about their exams and nothing else. I think I'm going to suffer greatly when I start working. Think days and nights, nights and days, spent at the office, trying to meet my deadline(s). Think tonnes and tonnes of chocolate bars consumed by me, since I dont drink coffee *damn* Think the only date I will have with my bf is a quick dinner near the office.. Haha. Stress-nya.. No wonder many girls say they want to marry a rich man. So easy. Marry a rich man and live a tai-tai's life. Hmmm.. I dont think I have that kinda life :P And are there really so many rich men for the women to marry? I doubt it.

At the moment I'm hoping everything goes well so that I can graduate nicely, get a decent job with at least good pay and hopefully save/invest enough to secure myself and my family a comfortable life. Although I seriously think I will never be able to achieve that dream by simply saving. We finance people know that saving is definitely not the way to go. So people, INVEST!!! Hahahaha. Invest in properties! There's a property boom now in Aust. I see people earning at least half a million within 1-2 years. Else, invest in securities!!! Otherwise, you can do what some people are doing - write books on how to get rich :P

Yea.. I've kinda decided not to worry anymore whenever he works late. At least he's not working till 2-3am in the morning like my friend's gf! Hehe. I should start worrying more about myself instead *aiks*

Untitled

Sometimes things are not what you think it is. There are many things that are not visible to the naked eye.

Sometimes you think the other person hates you. But when you think about it, that person could be jealous of you, and hence the hatred. Some things may look really nice to you, but you do not know how much effort and time has gone into it..

I used to be 'teased' by this friend of mine about my 'perfect and loving' relationship with him. Every year when we meet up, she would ask how am I going with him. I guess it's a courtesy question. I would say it's ok, still going on. But that simple answer would provoke a string of comments like

"aiyah! Sure very good wan lah! I see the two of you so good together. Dont argue also. Somemore your boyboy so sayang you...

You guys talk to each other everyday ah? He calls you every night ah?

I'm sure he treats you very well right?

Eh! He didnt fly over for your bday meh? Very close only wat...

So when getting married? Dont forget to invite me wor!!"

-__-"

I dont really mind friends asking me about my relationship. But when I get a string of replies like above, I dont know if the question was based on concern, jealousy, or plain laughing/teasing you (I've been thinking of the correct word for about 5 minutes, and I still cant think of it. Haha). Such comments might sound friendly, but somehow you get a very uneasy feeling that the person is implying something else.

There are no perfect relationships. There are bound to be arguments, tears, cold wars.. and mine is not an exception. Not to mention mine is an LDR from the start till now.. Not a very fun thing to do you know. But I'm still holding on, we're still working hard at it and hopefully after the hard and long journey, something nice will wait for us at the end.

Anyway. It's been quite a few weeks that my friend has this 'disturbing' nick on her msn. First it started with the doubt of everlasting love. Now it has transformed into something more scandalous, like betrayal of a friend or something. I nudged her. Asking if she's ok. It was obvious she's trying to avoid the topic, simply saying that she's really stressed with assignments and exams. I asked another friend. She seems to know what's going on, but told me not to bother about it, she's just really troubled at the moment.

Hmmm. I guess no one wants to tell me. Honestly, that's fine with me. I dont really want to know what scandalous incident actually happened. But I was just trying to care for this friend. It's funny how she wants to know about everybody's relationship but she doesnt want to tell anyone about hers. Last time, she even asked me how Tiffany is going with her bf... O_o" How should I know?! I'm not that close to tiff, and I dont do periodic checkup on everyone's relationship ok.

Sigh.

To my friend, whom I know wont read this:
I dont know if there is everlasting love in this world, but I know people fall in and out of love. Whatever it is, I hope you get through it strongly. Take care.

Petrol is making us poor.

Petrol prices are always going up. I guess the day petrol prices drop for good is the day the sun rises from the West.. Perhaps one day we will all have to cycle (damn! I cant cycle. Haha) or walk or use alternative fuel vehicles to travel around. Those engineers and scientist better work really hard at their research before petrol prices make us poor..

The price of petrol is hitting about $1.40/litre at the peak of the cycle.

It's damn expensive ok!!!

When I first started pumping petrol, it only cost an average $0.90/litre. And now.. No eye see. I use about $30 of petrol a week for my uni trips, not including my shopping outings. Haha. Quite cheap right? But I'm still complaining expensive. Hahahaha. My car is only a small 1.6 litre ok. I cannot imagine how my friends survive with the petrol prices.

One of them drives a Holden Commodore v8, and if I'm not mistake her weekly petrol expenditure is about $60-80.. Twice of mine.. and she lives quite close to me. Another friend spends like $40-50 a week. About there lah. But she lives further away from uni. Haih..

How come I'm not catching public transport? Because I got lots of excuses lah. Lazy being the first and fattest excuse :P Not to mention I can never drag myself out of bed in time to catch the bus. Then it takes too long. Driving takes half the time. Winter is coming. What if it rains? Ok. Lame excuse. And somehow I always have to wait for the bus because I miss the earlier one, because my legs damn short and it takes like 10 minutes to talk from my faculty all the way to the bus-stop. Damn far. And even if I try to walk faster, I'm only 2-3 minutes earlier. Is that an excuse? Bah.. who cares? :P

Haih... any idea how I can grow longer legs? I know I'm waayyyy past the growing stage but I seriously want longer legs. They look like some pork legs at the moment... -__-" I have to make 1 big fold on my pants so that it doesnt drag on the floor, under my shoe, when I walk. And those skinny jeans dont work on me because my legs are too fat. And hence wearing jeans does not make me look good. And I dont really wear skirts. ARGH!!

EH!!! How come talking about petrol prices become talking about my legs ah? O_o"

Gila..

Dont want to talk already. Time to sleep.. people say I must not make my body clock upside down - awake at night, sleep in the day. wahahahahaha. I seriously think I'm born nocturnal lah. But then people say must change, so, nites peeps!!!

If I can eat meat..

I cant eat cows, if there are some of you who didnt realise.. and in this land down under where there are full of nice nice cows, it's called 'meat'. But I just love calling beef 'cows'. It just sounds friendlier ^_^

Meat pies - contains cow
Sausages - contains cow
Tacos - contains cow
Meatballs - contains cow
Lasagna - contains cow
Ravioli - contains cow

The University Engineers Club (UEC) is famous for having sausage sizzles every Tuesday from 1-2pm outside the engineering building.. And each time I pass that place, oooohhh.... I can smell the onions and the sausages on the bbq.. it smells divine.. although I dont eat onions, and I dont eat cows. The smell is enough to put me into hunger mode, but the thought that the sausages are cows just pulls my spirit back down. Haih.. why cant they have non-cow sausages ah? Why ah? Aussies just love their sausage sizzles. UEC has it every week. Major IEEE meetings have it after that. The SAE Motorsport once had it every Friday afternoon, although it's at the back where the workshops are..

Yea, I love the smell. And I wish it's not cows so I can sink my teeth into those juicy and yummy sausages... ahhhh...

*poof*

But that can never come true.. unless I have my own sausage sizzle! ^__^ Hehehehe.. this calls for a bbq outing soon.. anyone interested? by the river?

If I can eat meat, the first thing I would eat is.. LASAGNA.

I love lasagna. I just love it. Sometimes I see the guild offering it for lunch, and I always stare at it.. wishing that I can eat it. Sigh. I know some of you are probably thinking, what so great about lasagna? Well, I dont know. I just love the cheese, the sauce, the layers.. cant describe it. Dont know how to. But if I can eat cows, that's the first thing I would eat! Hehehe..

"why not steak?" my friend asked the other day..

Errr.. Why steak? It's just a piece of meat! And I'm not really a meat person. And I dont crave for chunks of meat like you guys ok..

But then again, I have not tasted steak. Boo hoo hoo. No big deal. I dont see how my life is any less disadvantaged.

Blogging about this at 12.30am in the morning, you can tell I am hungry @_@ Hahaha. I'm starving!!! I just ate a whole ham & cheese muffin, and it feels like only 1/3 of my stomach is satisfied.. the other 2/3 is crying for more food T_T

And I'm actually craving for some rich creamy white sauce pasta right now. Except it sounds a bit ridiculous eating pasta at this time of the night.. imagine the carbs. Hahaha. No lah. I'm not a diet freak. It's just that I'll be too full and I'll drift off to sleep right after that.. not a good idea.

I wouldnt mind a cheese naan though ^___^ anyone kind enough? Please!!! I'll pay you the price in AUD!!! Heh. I'm too hungry.. sorry :P

Retail therapy

Retail therapy isnt really therapy when you dont get to buy.

I walked the whole of Karrinyup shopping centre. Even walked the same wing few times. But yet I didnt buy anything. Maybe I wasnt in the mood. Maybe it was because my bank account only has a 3 digit balance, and the first digit is less than 5. Haha. Maybe because I was walking blindly..

I had intentions to buy. Somewhat. Haha. I saw a skirt (yes, whoa! She's looking at skirts!!) at Esprit. Liked it. Looks kinda cute. But I am too short >_<" and somehow it doesnt sit properly on my bum. My bum somehow 'lifted' the skirt too high that it didnt look as nice anymore... My sister tried to convince me that it simply needed ironing. But I wasnt convinced. I came out of the change room only to see the salesgirl wearing the same skirt, but in a different colour. It looks nice on her. But not on me *cry* Sigh.. short people cannot complain, because no matter how much we complain, we can never get taller :(

Even the smoothie that I bought tasted like sugar-water *urgh* Nothing beats Boost Juice smoothies.. *wink* Hehehe. Absolutely love their smoothies! Or maybe it's just the fact that the owner of the stall is a chinese, and she's trying to increase her profit margins.. hence blending more ice than frozen yoghurt. Sigh.

It was a disappointing 'therapy'. It wasnt even therapeutic! I seriously need a high paying job so that I can go for a REAL retail therapy.. but before I do that, anyone wants to sponsor me? ^__^
