Do you want to strip?

I was talking to my friend,

Hey Jesi, can you please pass me that? Thanks.

"Why? Do you want to strip?"

Yea. Thanks.

My other friend was looking at me, "you want to strip?!?!!"

O_O Hahahaa. NO!!!! I want to strip my wire ok!!!

My friend Jesi was laughing away. "hahahaha. Here you go, strip."

-_-"

Big bullies. Girls actually get bullied in the lab.. sobs.. sobs..
Now each time I ask him to pass me the wire stripper, he looks at me with this naughty look,
"You want to strip?"

Yes Jesi! I want to strip! Now will you please excuse me?!

I'm currently working on my load cell project and its an electronics project where we have to build a mechanism to test/return a value of the load applied. Anyway, I've been working in the labs, trying to solder my components on the bread board... now on top of being called Mary-Magdalena, I have friends who ask me, "Su, do you want to strip?" while passing me the stripper. Sigh.

it finally feels like winter

I woke up this morning to see that it's raining heavily outside. Knowing Perth's weather, there is really no such thing as a rain. It is called showers. Means they pour for a while, and stop. That is rain. Hahahaha. Finally managed to pull myself out of bed to the bathroom. Coming out of the bathroom I realised it was still raining. I thought, winter is finally here. Yay!!! I was jumping up and down in my heart!

True enough, it's been raining the whole day! Heavy rain, strong winds, chilly ... ahh...I love it. I was initially quite disappointed when people start telling me that spring is coming. Because I havent felt very very cold this winter yet. And now that I have ^_^ I am happy. Hahaha. My friends keep saying, "its cold, its so cold" Hmm...I agree. It is very cold. But I like! :P

I am fully armoured today too! I brought my scarf, I brought my jacket, I even brought my umbrella. Usually I just go to uni with a thin jumper over a sleeveless top inside. But today that is not going to be enough! Hehehe. Yay!!! Winter is FINALLY here!!!

You cant believe how happy I am :P I especially love it when I'm walking outside, enjoying the cold air, and rain. But now that I'm at home, it wont be long till I make myself a cup of hot soup... yum yum. I hope it rains again tomorrow!!! Let's pray ok!!!

For those of you in kl, I bet you must be wishing for rain to clear the haze too. So let's all pray for heavy heavy rain tomorrow. Wahahaha. I love winter I love winter I love winter. Although I doubt I'll still love it when it goes below zero point, and the winter is too long. I will start to hate winter then. But at the moment, I love winter. Hehehe.

The real Grace

Yesterday was my close friend Grace's 21st birthday. She invited lots of people, uni friends and friends from church. Now let's see who is Grace ok? Hahaha.

the engineering chicks, ahem, except the one on the right

the engineering males, I mean UNCLES, and Qin

where is the bday girl? coming lah...be patient ok. I'm trying to keep this in chronological order.

Happy family, hehehe. Bday girl is the one in white.

the yummy yummy cake - chocolate cointreau

engineers at work, dont play play!

basket girl... hahaha. Sounds so wrong.

2005's Australian Idols practising on Singstar

Hehehehe. That's all the photos I have. I was late to the food table so I didnt manage to take a picture of all the yummy yummy food my friend and her mum prepared for the past few weeks!!! Phew! Hard work man!

So, do I look like Grace? does Grace look like me? No right! Some people just cant remember names and faces. Tsk tsk...

It was an enjoyable party. I only went back home at 2.30am. Wahahaha. Yesterday was the first time she ever wore something so "feminine". Its her "cobweb" clothes she claims, clothes that have been in her cupboard for ages but never worn. Hahaha. But I'm sure our beloved grace is turning into a very beautiful lady...

OZ style

I was having lunch by my self today, my friends already had lunch. What to do? Meeting with project supervisor mah! Anyway, I went to the guild cafe for lunch. Ordered the yummylicious chicken and cheese turkish bread.. ahh...beautiful! The good thing about the cafe is that they heat-press the sandwich for you so that it's toasted and the cheese is melted... *yummy*

Eating slowly, watching everyone that comes to the cafe. It's interesting to watch people, I love it. Hehehe. I dont stalk ok! I simply observe... You get all kinds of people, all sizes, all races, all types of personality. I was sitting right across the different food sections and I got to observe a lot. There are people who can never decide what they want to eat. They walk from one section to the other, and in the end, back to where they started. I am one of them. Hahaha. There are also people who ask questions about certain dishes. "Does this have huge chunks of vegies in it?" Non-vege eater? HMm... I am like that too :P Not really lah, I eat my vegies ok!!! I just dont eat cows. "Is this beef?" is the usual question I ask. For a country so rich for its wonderful beef, I'm seriously left out. But who cares. I dont eat cows. Full stop.

There are also a lot of people who dont eat healthily. Tsk tsk. Who am I to comment? Absolutely no one. Because I am quite unhealthy too sometimes. But how can you just have a large chips for lunch? That's 100% packed with fat isnt? And oz style? Top it up with lots and lots of salt, or even chicken salt, the tastier alternative. I used to tease my friends, "are you eating chips with salt or what? Because that looks like salt with chips." Hahaha. The other alternative is to have it with gravy... the thick brown gravy. I have not tried it, it looks too starchy for me (ie. too much fat) A bit jelly-like texture. Urgh. I wonder how they eat it. They just pour it over the chips for you. Seriously, the way it looks already spoilt my appetite. Presentation plays an important part you know!!! I like the mashed potatoes from KFC though :P Just remember, anything smooth contains fat. That includes mashed potatoes from KFC. But who cares, I dont eat them everyday!!! And a few indulgences wont hurt! *wink*

Not to mention there are people who eat so little I wonder how they get the energy to sustain them for the whole day. Even if you're sitting down, you're constantly burning calories you know! At least I get hungry even if I sit for down for hours, just studying :P Although I rarely do that. Wahahaha. My concentration span is only 30mins max, sometimes more, sometimes less. This woman was having this strawberry tart for lunch. So small!!! about the size of my palm! And she's quite a build. About a size 12. And all she was having for lunch was that. I know that because that's what she told her friend who was passing by. Geez. Shaping up for spring? That's not the way to do it. I actually love strawberry tarts myself :P I love the ones you get from Miss Maud, a Swedish cafe. It's so nice, so beautiful!!! so yummy!!! Hahaha. The last time I introduced my friend to it, he liked it too. But he found it a bit too sweet. Hmm... it's alright for me!

I also bumped into my lecturer I just saw half hour ago! Hahaha. A bit too often dont you think? I was sitting there, observing the students and the cafe people. When suddenly this big figure was looking at me, smiling. Ahh! The supervisor for my project. I politely smiled back. Sometimes he scares me. I dont know why. Is it because he is so big? Or is it because he always looks at you right in the eyes when he talks to you, standing quite close O_O Eye contact? He always emphasises about eye contact and effective communication. But hey! Too much eye contact makes me scared ok!!! And there are people who tell me that he's sleazy... urgh. You know what is sleazy? I didnt, but when they told me that he is, I went to check the dictionary. Hahaha. So now I know. I should be careful. Ahem. But then he is the chairperson for my engineering major!!! I will see him again next year! And he will probably be my best reference from uni. Oh, he was the one who called me Magdalena :P He got my name right today though, Su.

The shocker of the day?!!! Wahahahaha. I almost choked on my salad. This guy walked in, dressed a bit like a gypsy. Stripes, colours, hair. He has a bandana-thing on his head, looking very colourful and interesting how he got his bushy curly hair to come out of the 2 holes on his bandana... are you thinking what I'm thinking? Probably not, who in the world would think of that anyway? I was observing him, his bandana, when I realised something... it wasnt a bandana. It was an underwear O_o" I almost spat out whatever I was eating. I tried so hard to contain myself. He was wearing an underwear on his head. Can you imagine that? I can never!!! The waist of the underwear was slopped on his head like a hairband. Then he simply pulled his hair through the 2 holes... OMG. I wonder where his brain is. Or maybe he just have this wacky sense of dressing. If you call that a dressing style. These people have got the craziest idea going on, they just never put it to good use. He was wearing this weird sleeveless shirt over a 3/4 length body-hugging piece underneath. Then he was also wearing 3/4 colourful striped hugging pants, almost like what people where to gym. Over a pair of baggy pants. Barefoot, like a typical aussie. The more I look at him, the crazier I think he is.

Sigh.. some people are just too creative. I wonder if I was the only one who noticed what he was wearing on his head. Nobody around him seem to stare at his headpiece the way I was. Ok, I was being kinda rude. I did stop staring after a while. I wonder what his classmates tell/ask him, "omg! that is such a cool headband! Love the colours! Love the style!" Maybe. Or even "is that a underwear you are wearing on your head?", "no it's not! It's what I call a custom made bandana."

Mary? Magdalena? Grace?

That's 3 names up there. But I've been called each and every one of them, a few times. Yes, Mary. Cant believe I was called Mary...

Mary?
A friend of mine got involved in a motorcycle accident last year. He fell into a coma and was quite critically injured. Anyway, the lucky guy survived and was back at uni beginning of this year. I was so glad to see him. Hehe. Not for any particular reason, but simply because he's quite a nice guy. When I first saw him, I waved to him. And we waved back. We even chatted a little. I assumed he recognised me. Saw him a few more times. Finally in one of the lectures, he was laughing with his friend behind me. Then he tapped my shoulder,

"hahaha...errr. I'm so sorry to ask but, what's your name? I forgot."

You forgot my name?! I saw you so many times but you didnt ask? Haha..

"Haha..yea. Is your name Mary?"

O_o" Mary? NO! Do I look like a Mary to you?

"Err...yea."

*slaps myself* Hahaha. Never thought I looked like a Mary. I'm Su!!!

From that day onwards he kept calling me Mary, "hello Mary!!!" Hahaha. Funny lah, but got all my other friends looking at me with huge eyes. Mary??? :P

Magdalena?
I'm currently enrolled in this unit called Mechatronics design. Not that many of us, probably about 30+ Among my female friends in this unit is a friend called Santi, but her official name is Magdalena. Anyway, was in the tut this afternoon when the lecturer decided to pick on my bright pink jacket as an example. He directed everyone's attention to my jacket, then asked,

"Let's take Magdalena's jacket for example. Is it Magadalena?"

*I looked around to see if he was calling the wrong person. Then I realised that my friend is not in this tutorial.* Me? No. I'm not Magdalena. I'm Su.

"Right, sorry. Su's jacket...."

Then my friends sitting around me was smiling at me, Magdalena? And then the guy who previously called me Mary, is now calling me Magdalena. Sigh. My name is pretty simple isnt? It's just Su. I didnt even ask them to call me Su Teng. Just Su. But somehow my name doesnt suit me I think. Everyone has their own views on what I should be called. Then later I told my friend Santi and she said, "Yea! He always calls me Su. And I said, I'm not Su. I'm Santi." Hahaha.

Grace?
Firstly, how can people think I'm Grace? One of my closer friends in uni is called Grace. We used to spend so much time together that people think we are twin-dolls. She's tall and really thin. I'm short, and chubby. Dont you think the name Grace suits her better? We know of a guy friend who seems to be interested in the real Grace, that's what we always tease her about. Haha. But he always gets our name mixed up. He will call me Grace when he sees me, and then ask me where is Su. Or he will call Grace Su, and ask her where is Grace. Do we look that inseparable? According to him, yes. It feels weird to just see one of us. Well, get used to it mate! Because we barely see each other now :P Haha. So yes, I was called Grace in my first few years of uni. But now he can differentiate us. I am Su. And she is Grace. Do I look like a Grace?

Today I was just thinking, people think I have such lovely names. Or they simply cant get my name right. Mary, Magdalena, Grace, but really my name is just a simple Su. Is it that hard to remember? Hmmm... at least it's better than my high school physical education teacher who used to call me teng-su. They just cant read asian names isnt? They can never get the surname and the names in the right order. Hahaha. Oh well, I am Su. And will always be Su. Hehehe.
