Working life
aiks!!
*sweeps cobwebs away*
It's been quite a while huh? LoL.
So many things happened.
Started work for 1 week. Then changed jobs!! Haha. It was shocking, scary, but exciting :P
And now I'm 2 weeks into my NEW-ER job. So I dont think I'll quit here as fast as I quit my "1st job". Hahaha. I might actually stay here for a while :P My daddy said I broke the record of duration in 1st job!! Haha.
Been catching the bus to work every morning. Cant afford to drive during peak hour then pay almost $20 for the day's parking -__-" I've been training myself well. Actually, more like forcing myself well. I've not waken up at 7am every morning for the past few years. And I gotta keep myself awake and alert until 5pm everyday...
Torturing I tell ya. Sometimes I just wish someone else goes to work with me. Then I can just conveniently lean my head against him for that extra "sleep". Kakaka.
I'm actually still waiting for the day when I'll miss my alarm then open my eyes to see the clock showing 9am O_O" touch wood. Haha. Although my company practices flexi-hours, I'm still a junior and its not exactly THAT flexi that you can come to work at 11am :P
After 5pm my brain just shuts down. Like that time on the bus when I couldnt find my SmartRider and almost missed my stop. So embarrassing. I had to tell the bus driver to wait a few seconds while I looked for my forever-missing card.. Sigh. But when you start working, you start to realise that there isnt much time left for yourself - week nights are usually short and soon you have to go to bed. Weekends pass by so quickly the dreadful feeling of going to work again tomorrow just pulls you back to ground.. Sad..
Working life has been okayyy. Can be boring, scary or fun. But I just realised that working as an engineer can be quite a boring life -__-" Wondering if I'm in a "quiet" department or what. But the pay is better than in commerce so I cant complain :P My manager is quite a nice lady and the 2 other grads are quite friendly. So that really makes the environment better but I wont always be surrounded by "nice people".. I need to start picking up some useful tips in handling difficult people and harsh words. Any hints?
Now that I'm earning my own, most things seem more affordable. Haha. Shopping is more of a self-control exercise rather than window-shopping exercise. But still, I can be pretty stingy when it comes to spending on clothes. Especially when all of the tags read "Made in China". Then you think about the cost of producing the piece of clothing, and the profit margin the label is making.. And the price you are paying. And then you also think about your never-ending crisis of hanger shortage. Haha. There is always not enough hangers for the clothes!!! :P And then with the recent news about china products (food, clothing etc) you kinda tell yourself not to buy so many clothes. And then someone highlighted the other day that the price we pay for a simple product less than A$5 might be someone's salary in China -__-"
Anyway, I plan to save up a significant proportion of my salary. Hehe. I want to save up for a trip back to Msia - that's where the real shopping experience takes place (and suddenly you forgot about the china news), a trip with him to somewhere, and maybe a trip to HK?? Hahaha. I'm getting ahead of myself. I dont think I have enough leave accumulated by xmas to travel to so many places :P Oh well.. no harm dreaming right? all I need is better planning and efficiency in traveling :)
