Daunted by distance and travel

I met this friendly engineer in this engineering precision company in PJ - when I was supposedly doing my internship but left after 2 weeks. Hahahaha. Anyway..

Chinese. Probably in his 30s-40s. Big range I know :P He used to ask me to guess his age but I forgot what I guessed and I forgot if I got it right.. lol

He once told me this - to find your other half who's hometown is the same as yours. Why? Easier wor, cny time. Dont have to travel all the way back to her hometown, bags and bags of luggages (young kids), you're only troubling yourself.

Well, as you can see, I absolutely ignored his advice. Instead, I sought my other half who's hometown is far north while my hometown is in KL. Not to mention, my 2nd home is now in Perth, while he is still in Pg.

I believe I'm a very stubborn girl.

I'm not complaining about non-existent-cny-balik-kampung dilemmas. I have enough dilemmas now alone with the distance between Perth-Penang, and KL-Penang.

Sometimes I believe it is in my life to travel. And I'm not bragging about travelling the world because I dont have enough money yet. But simply travelling (car/plane) back to my family or to him.

I dont like flying, just in case any of you didnt know. I'm at the verge where I almost hate flying. Yet, I fly at least twice a year. My passport has more entry and exit stamps (before ePassports) than my dad or mum. And I'm definitely not a good car passenger. Nor a boat passenger. I have serious motion sickness. I'm best if I only stay at one place, and either I drive or I take the train/bus with good ventilation and short journeys.

Sometimes I wish that we're from the same hometown. That we work in the same state, same country, same CBD. That we can go to work together. And going to his house is simply a 10-20 minutes drive. I can even afford 30 minutes. It's definitely better than being 6 hrs away by flight, or 4 hours by car (or 1 hr by flight).

But fate has to have it that I find someone who is so far away from me. And fate has to have it that I am obligated to stay in Perth and him in Penang. And fate has to have it that we both wished for each other to be where we are.

Fate must really hate me...
